Hanna Donald and Martha Benedict develop performative works at the intersection of pop culture, body, language, and social observation. In its projects, it explores how shame, intimacy, humor, and vulnerability are socially constructed and negotiated. It is particularly interested in how what is perceived as embarrassing can open up spaces for empathy, self-acceptance, and new forms of belonging. The result is stage formats that engage with current discourses and invite audiences to question normative perspectives on what is considered “deviant.”
