The project «fibre» develops the foundation for a film that brings to light local and self-sufficient ways of living in the post-war valleys of Ticino through a visual archive. It focuses on communal practices, resource-conscious production, and the largely undocumented knowledge of sustainable everyday life. Through archival research, fieldwork, and material experiments, a logbook is created that serves as the conceptual basis for the film’s characters, costumes, and settings. In doing so, the project opens up new perspectives on social sustainability and explores what contemporary societies can learn from past forms of coexistence.
