Peau a Peau

Erell and Sara's project "Peau à peau : patchwork de correspondances" examines the aesthetic and social significance of patchworks. Specifically, they focus on patchworks embroidered by relatives of AIDS victims in Switzerland. Unlike in France, where these pieces are institutionalized, they circulate in Switzerland in the private sphere and carry a diffuse memory. The project aims to sew these stories back together while keeping them fragmented, with each piece telling a connection, an absence, and a struggle. Through interviews, archival research, and correspondences with artists, the patchwork methodology will be used both curatorially and artistically to reactivate these stories and their contemporary artistic potentials.
