Zoe and Ho Ki's project "Old Tongues die hard" aims to create a filmed piece, exploring an imaginary diaspora within Switzerland, focusing on the relationship between language and identity. By examining the cultural and linguistic histories of Hong Kong and Scotland, they seek to question the role of English in Switzerland and explore how languages merge and influence each other. The project will juxtapose signs and symbols from Hong Kong, Scotland, and Switzerland to create new meanings and insights into language loss and resilience. During the 4-month studio period, they plan to work with film, conduct interviews, and explore cultural links, culminating in screenings and discussions.
